Mitch and Murray Productions presents the Canadian premiere of AN INTERVENTION by Olivier Award-winning playwright Mike Bartlett (Snowflake, Cock, Scandaltown).
Bartlett's play is an exploration of friendship, responsibility, and the murky territory that exists at the boundary between them. Two longtime friends are deeply divided over a foreign war in the Middle East. The more present dilemma for them is again one of intervention – when is it right to intervene in a friend’s personal conflict?
The piece examines the age of outrage with razor-sharp intellect, wit, and empathy. It's a nuanced and beautiful examination of two humans and friends buckling under the strain of modern day anxieties. It's the perfect play for our times.
"An Intervention by British playwright Mike Bartlett is the epitome of entertaining, meaningful and beautifully crafted theatre. A ‘must-see,’ An Intervention is ironically funny, shockingly tense, and desperately sad all at once." – Vancouver Presents
"An Intervention is a sensationally fascinating two-hander with an incisively funny, clever and sometimes intense script. Compelling performances by Kate Craven and Christiaan Westerveld." - Vancouver Plays.
"Under Aaron Craven’s excellent direction, these are two winning performances. Mitch and Murray Productions never fails to provide thought-provoking, timely, exciting theatre and An Intervention is no exception." - JoLedingham.ca
"Despite its weighty subject matter, An Intervention balances moments of gravity with touches of humor and levity, creating a dynamic and engaging theatrical experience. I was absolutely enthralled by it from start to finish." - Filled Up Cup
